Spending time in the Supported Hold is great as a starting point for any Squat movements. The position provides the opportunity for strength development in the musculature of the lower limbs and improved stability & mobility in the joints of the lower limbs. It also is a great way to learn the positions required for the Squat movement and to get comfortable with being in those positions.

Feeling stable and strong in the Supported Hold will mean you have the ability to begin to challenge yourself with the Squat movement and a variety of exercises which require this position.

Prescription Options:

  • You don’t have to be too formal when using the Supported Hold. You can utilize it as a challenge where you may do x1 MAX set per day and see if you can beat your previous time.
