I have created a graphic to help parents of youth athletes, and youth athletes themselves make better decisions about whether or not they should train.
Too often, we persist and persist and persist, with a mindset that more is better, when in actual fact better is better, and you can’t train better (or at a high quality) if you are not physically, physiologically, mentally, and emotionally ready to.
The mindset from youth athletes, parents, and coaches is that we will fall behind if we miss a session. Actually if we train, when we should be resting, that’s when we fall behind as we will do more harm than good. If rest is required, than that is the key to preventing youth athletes from falling behind.
I encourage you to use the infographic below when you are making decisions as to whether or not you should train:

If you have found this infographic useful, then tell five friends about it, so they can make better and more informed decisions about whether or not they should train.
